Nottinghamshire’s Second XI found progress difficult in the first day of their Championship match against Lancashire in Crosby.
After winning the toss Notts elected to field, and opening pair Reece and Agathangelou added 84 before Kelsall caught Agathangelou (32) off George Bacon in the 25th over. Bacon then saw off Reece (44), caught at slip by Brett Hutton two overs later. Luke Wood trapped Proctor in the 28th and after Bacon claimed his third, that of Wayne White (12), the first session finished with the hosts 109-4.
With two new batsmen in, Notts looked for quick wickets but found themselves kept out by a pair of excellent partnerships. The first, of 102, ended with Davies (44) caught at point off Luke Wood. Livingstone was 57* at this point, and alongside Oliver Newby took Lancs to 235 by tea. The pair pushed on after the break, Livingstone reaching his century in the 86th before trailist Maurice Chambers used the new ball well, having Newby (92) caught by Brett Hutton at slip.
Lancashire finished the day on 398-6, George Bacon claiming three of the wickets.
