Nottinghamshire all-rounder Samit Patel has been awarded an England increment contract.
Patel has played a total of three T20 matches and three Tests for England in the current contract period to earn his increment contract.
Non-contracted players can earn an England increment contract via a points system. Five points are awarded for a Test appearance and two for a T20 or ODI appearance, with an increment contract being awarded automatically once the player reaches 20 points during the 12-month contract period.
ECB National Selector Geoff Miller said: “This contract reflects the contribution Samit has made to our T20 and Test teams this winter and we congratulate him on his achievement.”
