Broad Returns Home From Tour Of India
Broad, who lost his Test place to Steven Finn in the third test at Eden Gardens, was due to captain England in two Twenty20 Internationals following the conclusion of the Test series, a duty which will now fall to Eoin Morgan.
Fellow Nottinghamshire player Graeme Swannn has retained his place in the side for the fourth Test in Nagpur with Samit Patel left out.
Broad has been a mainstay of the England bowling attack since his emergence on the international scene but a run of 14 wickets in six Tests led to his omission and he hopes to regain his fitness before pushing for selection.
