Karl Turner has signed a one year contract with Nottinghamshire having caught the eye during an extended trial last season.
He made his first class debut for Notts having previously played second eleven cricket at Hampshire and Durham.
“Karl showed some promise last season and we feel that he is a player who could develop given an opportunity,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“We see him as an opener in four day cricket and feel that he has the potential to make an impression.”
Turner made a solid early impression with a 185 for Nottinghamshire’s second eleven in July and signed off with 64 and 42 in the LV= County Championship match against Sussex at Trent Bridge having featured in five successive matches.
