Second Eleven Championship
Notts 311-9 dec & 317 Warwickshire 359 & 272-0
Notts (8pts) lost to Warwickshire (24 pts) by 10 wickets
Ali Brown showed his class as he led the Notts in their endeavour to set Warwickshire a challenging total to chase in the fourth innings on the last day of this game at Lady Bay.
He scored 118 from 130 balls with four sixes and thirteen fours before he was bowled by Metters as Notts tried to force the pace after lunch. Graeme White (24) helped Brown add 100 for the sixth wicket.
Metters bowled thirty overs in the innings to finish with 6-91 giving him match figures of 9-173 from 63 overs.
Warwickshire required 270 to win from a minimum of 58 overs but the apparent ease with twhich Westwood and Evansguided them home without losing a wicket must have been a huge disappointment to the home side.
Westwood was missed in the opening overs and took full advantage, scoring his second century of the match, this time adding to his 163 in the first innings with 138.
Luke Evans scored 116 as Notts, looking lacklustre in the field, lost by 10 wickets with nine overs remaining.
