Darren Bravo will bat at number three when he makes his LV= County Championship debut for Nottinghamshire.
Bravo will be preceded by Karl Turner and Alex Hales who returns to the fold having scored two runs in the England Lions victory over Sri Lanka A at Wantage Road.
Graeme White is included in a 13-man Nottinghamshire squad but faces competition for his place with Luke Fletcher hoping to regain his place in the four-day side.
"Beating Somerset in the CB40 match was pleasing but it is completely irrelevant to our prospects in this game and we need to apply ourselves from the outset to try and force a positive result," said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
"The game provides an opportunity for us to put any fears of being dragged towards the relegation battle behind us and we are strengthened by the return of Alex Hales and Samit Patel."
Sam Kelsall misses out following his debut against Durham with Charlie Shreck also facing competition for his place.
