Darren Pattinson has been drafted into the Notts Outlaws team to face Glamorgan Dragons in place of Graeme White.
Notts have improved their prospects of qualification as the leading runners-up across the three Clydesdale Bank 40 groups with Somerset seemingly in charge of top spot.
The Trent Bridge faithful will have a first opportunity to pass judgment on Karl Turner and Darren Bravo who are joined in the top three by Riki Wessels.
Ben Phillips, Luke Fletcher and Paul Franks join Pattinson in a strong seam attack which could prosper in cloudy conditions at Trent Bridge.
Notts won the toss and elected to bowl but rain delayed the scheduled start of play.
