Nottinghamshire spinner Graeme Swann will compete with Hashim Amla for the ICC cricketer of the year award.
Amla was instrumental in helping Nottinghamshire to begin the season with four consecutive LV= County Championship victories with a contribution of 377 runs.
Swann is a leading contender having enjoyed Ashes success and winning the ICC World Twenty20 in the last 12 months.
Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar are the other nominees in the category.
A 25-strong panel will vote for their preferred candidate with the winner announced at a glittering ceremony in Bengaluru on 6 October 2010.
