Ryan Sidebottom will be included in the Nottinghamshire team to face Lancashire in their crucial LV= County Championship clash at Old Trafford.
Sidebottom hasn’t featured in England’s NatWest Series One Day Internationals against Pakistan and will therefore make one final appearance before leaving the county.
His inclusion may see spinner Graeme White left out although Director of Cricket Mick Newell may choose to include the spinner if he discovers a dry wicket on Monday morning.
“The wicket was under covers today so we haven’t seen too much of it but I don’t expect that there will be too much grass on it,” he said.
“Ryan’s availability is a boost for us and it will be a fitting end to his time here if he helps us to win the game.”
With the winners of the LV= County Championship pocketing £500,000, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Somerset are not short of an incentive to perform.
Notts hold pole position despite suffering defeats to Durham, who now face Somerset at home, and Yorkshire, who now host Kent, in their previous two matches.
“The standings mean that every point counts and it’s very important that we take as many bonus points as we can,” said Newell.
“We can’t influence what happens elsewhere but we have control of our own performance.”
Notts have no new injury concerns and have named a 13-man squad that includes the eleven that faced Yorkshire in addition to White and Sidebottom.
Paul Franks is likely to open the batting alongside Alex Hales having shared a season-best opening partnership last week.
The match will be screened live on Sky Sports 1.
