Cuckney 311-4 (18pts) drew with Notts Academy 144-9 (4pts)

A depleted Academy side lacking Akhil Patel, Scott Elstone and Jake Ball who had all been called up for the first team at Edgbaston and Adam Shepherd injured, managed to hold on for a losing draw at Cuckney on Saturday.

Cuckney, batting on winning the toss put the Academy attack to the sword scoring 311-4 from their 50 overs.

Tom Ullyott took advantage of the weakened attack to score a rapid 100 from 65 balls with 15 boundaries, his second fifty taking just 25 balls. He came in when Adam Burgess was third out for 66 and put on 126 for the 4th wicket with Richard Stroh before Stroh was out caught of a skier at mid on by Sam Kelsall for 68.

Academy director Chris Tolley rolled back the years with 2-38 from eleven overs whilst Brett Hutton, who bowled well in his first spell conceding just 29 in his first nine overs, suffered when brought back took 2-76 from thirteen.

The Academy, who were further weakened when Michael Robson suffered a knee injury when fielding and had to bat with a runner later in the innings, were soon in trouble as Will Butler took 3-13 from twelve overs.

Ben Hutton (28) Adam Tillcock (23) and Adeel Shafique (22) all got out when reasonably set and it was left to Bobby Gamble and Chris Tolley to bat out the final six overs to save defeat.
