Notts Premier League
Notts Academy 244-9 (17pts) winning draw v Cuckney 243-7 (10pts)

The tension was high as Adam Shepherd prepared to deliver the last over of the match with Cuckney needing 10 runs for victory.

A single by Hind reduced the target to nine and when Carlisle was clean bowled from the second ball Notts Academy were back in the driving seat. Brown managed a single from the third ball and then Hind reached the boundary from the next to reduce the target to four from two.

The batsmen were unable to lay a bat on the final two balls which resulted in a bye apiece and Cuckney fell two runs short of an outright win and a winning draw to the Academy was the final result.

Earlier the Academy had been inserted by Cuckney and were in trouble early on as both Kelsall and Elstone were dismissed with the score on eight.

A third wicket stand of 146 between Akhil Patel and Karanjit Bansal saw Notts gain the ascendency.

Parkin dismissed Bansal for 42 and quickly bowled Sam Wood for 2 before Patel caught for 116 following an assured knock that included 13 fours and a six from 141 balls.

Notts finished on 244-9 from their 50 overs. Ian Parkin took 5-45 from 13 overs with two wickets from the final two balls of his last over before he was withdrawn from the attack losing the opportunity to bowl hat-trick ball.

At 210-3 in the 47th over Cuckney were probably the favourites to but Stroh was caught by Hassan Azad off Jake Ball's bowling leaving two new batsmen who lost their momentum in the exciting final over.

Adam Shepherd took 2-28, Jake Ball 2-61 and Akhil Patel backed up his batting with 1-46 from thirteen overs.
