Notts Academy increased their Bassetlaw League winning streak to six matches with a comfortable 8 wicket win over Kiveton Park.
Kiveton won the toss and elected to bat ∧ opener Tim Ward attacked from the off hitting a rapid 25 being particularly severe on Adam Shepherd taking 22 from two overs. However, Shepherd had his revenge by uprooting his stumps in his next over.
Grainger (32) and Cartwright (33) helped Kiveton to 115-3, Akhil Patel pegging back the early onslaught with an economical spell of 2-19 from 10 overs helped by Sam Wood at the other end.
Adam Shepherd then came back in to the attack and took four wickets in 12 balls to wreck the visitors’ innings as they subsided from 145-5 to 161 all out. Shepherd clean bowled five of his victims in a haul of 6-52.

Akhil Patel and Sam Wood put on 95 for the first wicket before Wood was out for 30. Patel then went on the attack before being caught for 75, an innings that included 44 in boundaries.
Sam Kelsall and Kevon Cooper both ended on 19 to see the Academy home with 25 overs remaining.
