Nottinghamshire’s overseas batsman Adam Voges has withdrawn from the Australia squad for the one-day and Twenty20 games against South Africa due to a clash with his wedding day.
Voges gets married in Australia on Sunday 5 April and had asked for permission to fly home for the ceremony before re-joining the tour but his request was refused by the Australian coaching team.
"There's certainly no guarantees that I'm going to get selected again and I fully understand that and realise that," said Voges.
"I spoke at length to Andrew Hilditch and Tim Nielsen and they were both really good, they were both very supportive and Andrew said this won't affect future selection in any negative fashion.
"So that's always reassuring to hear -- but he did say at the same time there wouldn't be any guarantee that there would be further selection."
Voges has been replaced in the Australia squad by his Western Australia team mate Marcus North who has had to withdraw from Voges’ wedding guest list.
