Lowe’s Wong Junior School have been crowned Girls National ASDA Kwik Cricket Champions after winning the finals tournament at Headingley.
The Southwell Primary had already triumphed in the regional competition to reach that stage and earned the praise of their teacher Chris Steele.
"The team worked very hard as a group throughout the competition and every individual made a solid contribution to our success," he said.
"All of the girls developed their cricket skills and progressed as cricketers along the way whilst playing matches woth great spirit."
More than 130,000 children from 12,000 schools across 40 counties entered the competition.
