Luke Fletcher will replace Charlie Shreck in the Nottinghamshire team to face Yorkshire at Scarborough.
Fletcher was left out of the side which slipped to an innings defeat against Durham last week but returns to the pace attack alongside Ryan Sidebottom.
Newell has named two additional bowlers in a 13 man squad with Mark Ealham, Paul Franks, Andre Adams and Darren Pattinson fighting for two places.
“Luke has been the pick of our bowlers this season and we had to get him back into the side,” said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“He’s feeling fresh after resting last week and hopefully he can pick up where he left off.”
An unchanged battling line-up will see Bilal Shafayat and Matt Wood opening in the final game of David Hussey’s stint with the club.
“It looks like a good pitch which will give an advantage to whichever team bats first and we’ll look to the openers to try and establish a platform for us,” said Newell.
“David Hussey has played four outstanding innings for us in the past few weeks and he’ll be looking to produce something in this game.”
