Andy Pick has been appointed as Nottinghamshire’s bowling coach, replacing Phil Defreitas.
A team mate of Mick Newell, Wayne Noon and Paul Johnson during his 17-year playing career with Notts, and a member of the championship winning squad of 1987, Pick will combine his role at Trent Bridge with his current position as Head Coach of England Under 19s.
“The brief is to work with Nottinghamshire’s younger bowlers and to try and develop their understanding of cricket and the technicalities of their actions,” said Pick.
“The more experienced bowlers will be self-sufficient but I’ll be on hand for them when they need me.
“I’ve worked with Mark Footitt and Luke Fletcher when they were part of the England Under 19s setup and I’m aware of Andy Carter and some of the academy bowlers in the Notts setup who I will work closely with.”
Pick, who has worked at Notts in a consultancy role in previous seasons, spent a year as Head Coach of Canada in the build-up to the 2007 World Cup.
