England seam bowler Ryan Sidebottom has been named in a 12-man Notts squad for Thursday’s friendly against Middlesex at Trent Bridge.
Ali Brown and Mark Wagh will open the batting in the 50-over game with Samit Patel, Chris Read and Will Jefferson also included.
“We’re still looking at one or two players with an eye to including them in our squad for the Friends Provident Trophy game on Sunday so it’s quite an experimental line-up,” said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“There’s a few players with something to prove and they’ll have a chance to do that against good opposition.”
Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann are rested whilst Matt Wood is ruled out with an ankle injury.
Play starts at 10.45am and admission is free for all supporters.
Notts team: Ali Brown, Mark Wagh, Will Jefferson, Samit Patel, Chris Read, Alex Hales, Bilal Shafayat, Paul Franks, Andy Carter, Luke Fletcher, Ryan Sidebottom, Jason Brown
