Mick Newell is set to name an unchanged team for Sunday’s NatWest Pro40 decider against Sussex Sharks at Trent Bridge (play commences 12.45pm).
Notts Outlaws will be crowned Champions if they win the game and despite the disappointment of Wednesday’s home defeat against Durham Dynamos, Newell has unwavering faith in his side.
“The game is set-up like a final and the chance to win a trophy is there for us,” said Newell.
“We haven’t responded to the pressure of chasing a score as we would have liked but we’ll address the things that cost us on Wednesday night and clarify what’s expected from individual players.
“We’ve got effective lower-order players but we didn’t go anywhere in the middle and left them with too much to do.
“My feeling is that the side that we put out is our best eleven and although Matt Wood and Paul Franks are in the squad, we’ll probably go the same way.
“Sussex have some momentum having beaten Middlesex but we beat them as well last weekend and we’ve suffered only a very narrow defeat in the mean time.”
Supporters are advised to allow extra time for their journey to Trent Bridge on Sunday as several access roads will be closed during the Robin Hood Marathon.
The marathon route crosses Lady Bay Bridge which will be closed and access to the car park at Nottingham Forest will be via Colwick Road for this fixture.
Radcliffe Road, London Road and Bridgford Road will be open as usual but extra traffic is expected early in the day.
