Trent Bridge Event Safety Officer Malcolm Whitt hopes to recruit more than 100 Safety Stewards to join his team for the ICC World Twenty20.
The World’s best cricketers will descend on Nottingham for the tournament with fixtures involving the likes of England, Australia and India taking place throughout June 2009.
Trent Bridge is the only tournament venue outside of London and the successful applicants will receive training resulting in an NVQ level two qualification in crowd safety and will be paid an hourly rate of £7.50.
“The ICC World Twenty20 will be a huge event and it is very important that we recruit enough stewards to ensure that ticket holders can enjoy the fixtures at Trent Bridge in a safe and welcoming environment,” said Malcolm.
”The training that we provide leads to a nationally recognised qualification and the working at such a prestigious tournament and venue can be very rewarding.”
Anyone interested in applying to join the stewarding team is invited to attend open meetings on either Monday 1st December or Tuesday 2nd December in the Pavilion at Trent Bridge at 7pm.
