Notts seamer Ian Saxelby will play for Gloucestershire in their LV County Championship fixture against Middlesex which starts today.
Saxelby’s rise to prominence culminated in a call-up to the England Under 19’s Test squad this week and he has been drafted in by Gloucestershire following the loss of loan bowlers AJ Harris and David Wigley.
“Ian has been offered the opportunity to play first team cricket at Gloucestershire and that’s something that we can’t offer him at the moment,” said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“We have seen a huge improvement from him over the last six weeks and we’ll monitor his progress in the match with great interest.
“We hope that he has a big part to play for Notts in the future and we’ll sit down with him next week to discuss a potential deal.”
Saxelby has trained at Trent Bridge as a trialist for the past three months having graduated from the club’s academy last year.
