Chris Read will take his place in the Nottinghamshire side to face Durham in the LV County Championship after making a swift recovery from a dislocated thumb.
Read sat out Sunday’s NatWest Pro40 defeat against Somerset at Taunton but will captain a new-look side that includes Will Jefferson, Bilal Shafayat and Matt Wood.
Samit Patel is unavailable for selection having been picked for England Lions and Adam Voges makes his final appearance of the season before returning to Australia.
“Adam has done very well for us this season and he’s certainly a player that we’ll be keeping an eye on,” said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“He’s had a positive influence in the dressing room and has had some crucial innings. Hopefully he can sign off in style against Durham.
“It’s an important game for both sides and a win would be very valuable because Durham have a game in hand.”
Darren Pattinson, Charlie Shreck and Andre Adams will lead the bowling attack with Jefferson and Shafayat set to open the batting.
