Notts Physio Craig Smith expects Mark Wagh to be fit to face Sussex at Hove next week after assessing the shoulder injury that forced him to retire hurt in Tuesday’s NatWest Pro40 defeat against Durham.
Wagh looked a likely match winner having reached 52, but his retirement sparked a batting collapse that allowed Durham to escape with the spoils.
“Mark has woke up this morning in decent shape and we are hopeful that he will be able to play against Sussex,” said Smith.
“He’s strained his shoulder playing a stroke but we’ve got time to give him intensive treatment and he’ll heal in time for the game.”
