Mick Newell will assess conditions before deciding whether or not to include a third spinner in his team to face Gloucestershire in Sunday’s NatWest Pro40 encounter at Cheltenham.
Rob Ferley is included in a 12 man squad alongside Graeme Swann and Samit Patel.
Andre Adams and Paul Franks are recalled but Charlie Shreck and Stuart Broad won’t be involved.
“We played down there three years ago and it turned a lot but this fixture is before the Cheltenham festival so it might not offer the spinners quite as much,” said Newell.
“We’re top on two fronts but it means nothing at this stage and we have to perform in our remaining six games in both competitions.”
