Nottinghamshire Outlaws launch their quest to win the Friends Provident Trophy with a challenging fixture against Warwickshire Bears at Edgbaston tomorrow.
Director of Cricket Mick Newell, buoyed a convincing County Championship win over Kent, plans to draft Bilal Shafayat, Luke Fletcher and Gareth Clough into the squad but will make a late call on who misses out.
“Finishing the Kent game early was aboost because it gives the guys most of the day off before we travel to Warwickshire,” said Newell.
“The players are used to playing back-to-back games but having a bit of breathing space can only help us.
“Warwickshire tend to pen up and whack it from the off and they have a solid bowling attack which we will have to deal with.”
Leicestershire Foxes, Northants Steelbacks and Ireland are the other teams in the Midlands group of the competition.
Play starts at 12pm at Edgbaston and entry is £15 on the gate for adults and £5 for children.
