Charlie Shreck has been called up by the MCC to play against defending LV County Champions Sussex at Lord’s tomorrow.
The Nottinghamshire fast bowler is part of a 12-man squad for the four-day game, having been called up to replace the injured Middlesex seamer Alan Richardson.
The MCC squad has in recent years been picked from players involved on England Lions duty the previous winter and is regarded as a chance for those on the fringe of international selection to make an impression.
Shreck was also given a late call-up to the England Lions for their tour of India in February and seems to be inching closer to following his Notts team-mates Stuart Broad and Ryan Sidebottom onto the international stage.
