Young Lincolnshire seamer Andrew Carter has been given the chance to stake a claim for a long-term future with Nottinghamshire by Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
The 19-year-old was invited on the pre-season tour of South Africa and did enough to persuade the Notts management that he was worth a long-term trial.
Newell said: “Andrew has played in a few Second XI games for us and showed some potential, particularly on the tour.
“He will be with us on a full-time basis until early July, training and playing Second XI matches. It gives him the opportunity to get fitter and stronger and we’ll see where things go from there.”
