The Notts Academy have welcomed on board the first player to come through the Notts/Cornwall Junior Academy with the awarding of a scholarship to 15-year-old Taylor Williams.
The wicketkeeper-batsman enjoyed a tremendous season at age-group level, averaging 70 with the bat as part of a summer with a highest score of 152 for Cornwall Under-15s and 93 for their Under-17s.
Academy Director Chris Tolley said: “I have every faith in the opinion of our Cornish ‘scout’ Sean Hooper and he’s convinced that Taylor has what it takes to be a success.
“We had a look at him at the end of the season and Wayne Noon gave him some things to work on with his keeping over the winter. I’m delighted to welcome Taylor on board and am looking forward to seeing him progress.”
