Staff at Trent Bridge have helped spread the cricketing message to Africa with a donation of clothing and kit to the YMCA.
Nottinghamshire YMCA Chief Executive Will Wakefield is heading to Zambia and Malawi later this month with a wide collection of sports gear to pass on to schools and YMCA partners.
School Services Head of Services Neil Vandervalt (pictured with John Ellison) said: “I got in touch with some of my contacts at Trent Bridge to see if they had any old kit they might be happy to pass on.
“Cricket is one of the sports we are trying to develop in Africa and we are very grateful to Notts for their generous donation.”
Former Notts cricketer Graeme Archer provided some of his old kit, while Retail Manager John Ellison donated clothing and Cricket Development some resources and Junior Outlaws packs.
