Captain Stephen Fleming is confident Notts Outlaws can go one better and lift the Twenty20 Cup for the first time in 2007.

The New Zealander skippered Notts to last season’s final at Trent Bridge only for the hosts to lose a last-ball thriller to neighbours Leicestershire.

But 34-year-old Fleming, speaking at the launch of Nottinghamshire’s new Twenty20 kit today, claims the squad are fully equipped to win this year’s competition.

He said: “The guys are determined to get to the final again this year and I think the experience from last season will help us.

“We’ve improved tremendously in both Twenty20 and one-day cricket in the past couple of years, and that’s a trend we are looking to continue.

“There have been some very impressive performances already in the Friends Provident Trophy and while we are also riding high in the Championship, I see no reason why we can’t be challenging on all fronts this year.”

It’s the first time the Outlaws have had a kit dedicated to Twenty20, which will be worn throughout the Cup campaign.

Their usual one-day colours have been reversed for the shirt, which is available to buy now on the website.

And Fleming is looking forward to seeing plenty of supporters wearing the shirt and giving their backing to the team, who were roared on by 12,000 fans in last year’s quarter-final at Trent Bridge.

He added: “Twenty20 has proved a real hit with the general public and that’s great for the future of cricket.

“You always get a lift as a player when you’ve got so many fans giving their support and I’m sure there’ll be plenty of people getting behind us this year.”

In response to popular demand from supporters, Notts have introduced a new Twenty20 Week Pass for their group home matches from June 23-29.

If fans buy the pass in advance of the first match against Lancashire on June 23, they will be able to come to all four games at a specially reduced rate.

An adult pass costs £35, concessions can watch the action for £20 and a family pass for two adults and two under-16s costs just £90.

Advance tickets for individual matches cost £11 for adults, £6 for concessions and £28 for a family, while there are also advance group discounts for eight under-16s and two adults (£59) and 10 adults for £88.

Notts’ other three home matches are against Leicestershire on June 25, Derbyshire on June 27 and Yorkshire on June 29.
