Samit Patel’s excellent form during the group stages of the Twenty20 Cup has been rewarded with Nottinghamshire’s Player of the Month award for July.
The 22-year-old opened the campaign with two man of the match performances, 55 not out against Derbyshire Phantoms and an unbeaten 84 in front of the Sky television cameras against Lancashire Lightning.
Prior to the Twenty20 Cup, he also made an unbeaten 89 in the LV County Championship meeting with Derbyshire in response to being dropped from the side to make room for Stephen Fleming’s return from international duty.
He is pictured receiving a bottle of champagne and a voucher from Merchants restaurant from Paul Ellis, of team sponsor PKF.
