New bowlers Andre Adams and Mark Davies will be appearing for the first time in Notts colours tomorrow in a 50-overs friendly against Cricket Victoria Emerging Players.

New Zealander Adams flew in at the weekend as an overseas replacement for David Hussey with a brief to hit the ground running – and play his part in getting the two more victories Notts need to clinch promotion in the LV Championship.

Davies, signed on loan from Durham to help ease the Notts injury-crisis, was denied a debut when last week's floodlit Pro40 game was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

But he will be viewing tomorrow's contest as a warm-up for the Championship clash with Northamptonshire, starting on Wednesday, and so will four other players.

Mark Ealham will use the game as a fitness test following his recent hamstring problem while Jason Gallian, Will Jefferson and Bilal Shafayat are also included.

Said Director of Cricket Mick Newell: "All six of them will be in strong contention for places against Northants if they come through the game successfully."

Adams is certain to make his debut and he said: "I've just been involved in a six week series of one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia, so I'm in good nick.

"It's always difficult to step off a plane and drop straight into things but I've done it before with Essex, so it is not totally fresh for me.

"I know Stephen Fleming well, of course, and that will help. He's done a good job here and although I won't be around for long, hopefully I can do the same.

"It's exciting to be part of a team pushing for promotion and if we can make it three win in my three games, I'll be very happy."

Admission to Trent Bridge is free for tomorrow's game against Cricket Victoria, which gets under way at 10.45am.
