Notts Premier League
Wollaton 178-8 (50 overs) lost to Notts Academy 180-3 (34.1 overs) by 7 wickets
Academy 18pts Wollaton 3pts

The Academy completed their first double of the season as they enjoyed a comfortable seven wicket win over Wollaton.

Wollaton batted first on winning the toss and were soon in trouble as Jake Ball dismissed both openers who failed to score making the score 4-2. This soon became 19-3 as George Bacon dismissed Dodd for 6.

Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals and it was only a supreme effort by Antony Keely who scored 92 that saved Wollaton from recording a lower score than the 178-8 that they finished with.

Such was the dominance of the Academy bowling that after 25 overs the visitors had only reached 78-5.

However on the same wicket that was used for the second eleven game against Derbyshire that yielded only one wicket in 82 overs, this was a good performance by the Academy bowlers

Ball 2-24, Bacon 2-39, Tillcock 2-41, Webster 1-26 and Dobb 1-37 were the wicket takers.

Notts lost Hassan Azad without scoring and when Tom Rowe was out for 26 with the score on 45, Wollaton must have sensed a chance as the Academy were without Kelsall, Wood &and Hutton who are all on duty with the England Under 19s.

Ollie Swann and Michael Robson accepted the responsibility and took the game out of Wollaton's reach with a stand of 93. Swann was the dominant partner but Robson played his part taking the score to 138 before the latter was leg before for 33.

Swann saw Notts home with 16 overs to spare but unfortunately was unable to complete what would have been a deserved hundred ending not out on 91.
