Ali Brown and Adam Voges each scored 63 and shared a 119-run partnership as Nottinghamshire established a first innings lead over Somerset.

The fifth-wicket stand helped Notts to 261 all out before Marcus Trescothick (66 not out) guided Somerset to 137-3 at stumps.

Bilal Shafayat was Nottinghamshire’s only dismissal in the morning session, edging to Kieswetter for a simple catch, but Voges maintained his record of reaching fifty in every LV County Championship match so far this season.

Voges fell lbw to Willoughby and Brown soon followed before Chris Read enjoyed useful partnerships with Andre Adams and Ryan Sidebottom.

Adams, Sidebottom and Ealham made breakthroughs to remove Suppiah, Banks and Hildreth but must now break the partnership of Trescothick and Langer who led Somerset from 92 to 137-3 at the close.
