Notts Academy bowled out Anston for 140 in just 35 overs on Saturday but had to overcome the probing spin of Anston's overseas player Perreira to win by 4 wickets.

The Academy won the toss & put Anston into bat. Runs came at a fast pace on the small ground Adam Shepherd suffering conceding 60 from just eight overs bowling too short but still ended with three wickets.

Jake Ball was in contrast the stand out bowler taking three wickets in a controlled display of line and length bowling for just eleven runs. Dominic Harvey also bowled well with 2-18.

The only Anston batsman to shine was Perriera who was the mainstay of the batting with a patient 61 including 10 fours & two sixes.

He proved to be just as effective with the ball non of the Notts batsmen able to master his left arm spin. Perriera took all six wickets coming on in the 8th over he ended with 6-23 from 13 overs.

Akhil Patel 28 & Sam Wood 26 were the top scorers & at 121-6 there were some nerves in the dressing room, however Adam Tilcock (14) and Adeel Shafique (11) steered the Academy home.
