Nottinghamshire were unable to find the wickets they needed for victory over Leicestershire, who completed a remarkable run chase on the final day of their Second XI Championship clash at Loughborough.

A monstrous innings from opener and captain Sam Evans, who marched to 210 before finally falling to Fateh Singh, helped Leicestershire find the 496 runs they needed for a record win.

Singh took three in an almighty individual effort with the ball - 36 overs in total - after Byron Hatton-Lowe had found Notts' first breakthrough the day before, but Nikhil Gorantla (97) and Jamie Dunk (9) saw out the win for Leicestershire shortly after the recommencement of play in the afternoon.

The Second XI will return to action from Tuesday 3 to Thursday 5 September at Liverpool CC, where they take on Lancashire in a red-ball friendly before their closing Second XI Championship contest against Durham gets underway on Monday 9 September.
