Sporting organisations that form part of the Nottinghamshire Sports Club have joined forces to smarten up a number of communal areas at the Lady Bay venue, with paint donated by Crown Decorating Centre.

The project, which is now underway, will see Nottinghamshire CCC representatives joining players, staff and volunteers from other sports clubs based at the venue to repaint a host of areas, including the changing rooms, doors, corridors and the coach’s office.

Crown Decorating Centre, based on Radcliffe Road, has donated a range of Crown paints to facilitate the project, as the ground aims to retain its place as a sporting hub for professional and community activities.

The sports ground has long played host to training and fixtures across the full range of Nottinghamshire cricketing teams and age groups, with the Notts first team and The Blaze both currently making use of a marquee in which to conduct pre-season preparations.

The venue has been home to Nottingham Rugby, of the second-tier RFU Championship, since 2006, while Nottingham Corsairs RFC are also based at the ground.

“We are incredibly thankful for the generous donation from Crown Decorating Centre and the volunteers - who will be working hard over the next few weeks to spruce-up the club and give it a bit of TLC,” said Paul Taylor, General Manager at Nottingham Rugby Club.

“This project will help to transform the space and solidify its place as a key part of the community of Lady Bay - as we continue to welcome visitors, away fans, businesses and those in the local community to the venue in the future.”
