James Hayes secured three scalps as Nottinghamshire’s Second XI endured a difficult day one against Leicestershire at Kibworth.
Hayes induced centurion Louis Kimber into playing on, before bowling Sam Wood and dismissing Will Davies as the hosts racked up 507/8dec.
Toby Pettman and Tom Loten took two wickets apiece, with Scott Steel run out by a direct hit from Savin Perera.
In reply, Davis removed Ben Martindale, Dane Schadendorf and Hayes, with Loten bowled by Matt Salisbury, to leave the visitors 7/4 at stumps.
