New signings Jason and Ali Brown joined the rest of the Notts squad in a training session with a difference at Nottingham Rugby Club this week.
The Notts squad were put through their paces by Nottingham Rugby Club captain Craig Hammond and Director of Rugby Glenn Delaney as pre-season training got underway.
Tackle bags, sand running and ball skills were the order of the day as the players work towards achieving peak fitness for the season opener against Leicestershire in the Friends Provident Trophy on Sunday 19th April.
"The players have reported back in good condition and we're seeing the benefits of the work that they have done in the off-season," said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
"Glenn Delaney commented on how much fitter our players were compared with what he saw when he first worked with us two years ago and that's a result of having the players on 12-month contracts and the work that our Fitness Coach Kevin Paxton has done over the past year.
"The rugby session was well received and it's important that we add variety to the fitness work that we do as well as spend long periods working on our cricket skills."
Notts will finalise their pre-season preparations with a five-day pre-season trip to Portugal before beginning outdoor net sessions on the new practice wickets at Trent Bridge on Monday 30th March.
