Former Somerset and England off-spinner Vic Marks will be the guest at the next meeting of Nottingham Cricket Lovers’ Society on Thursday 9 January.

Vic played over 600 matches for his native County and was part of a Somerset side which won multiple one-day trophies. He earned selection for England in 6 Test Matches and 34 ODIs, appearing in the team which reached the semi-final of the 1983 World Cup.

On his retirement from playing Marks turned to journalism and broadcasting. He writes regularly for The Guardian and The Observer and is a popular summariser on BBC Radio’s Test Match Special.

Editor of County Cricket Matters, Annie Chave, will be the guest in the first part of the meeting. Annie established the magazine in 2019 and its 21st edition was published during December. She has also appeared as a commentator on the BBC and contributes a regular column to The Cricket Paper.

This meeting will take place at Trent Bridge, starting at 2pm. Individual membership of the Society costs £15 per year - £25 for a couple and £5 for juniors. Non-members are very welcome to attend an individual meeting at a cost of £5 in cash on the door.

The full programme for the winter season is also available on the Society's website www.nottinghamcricketlovers.co.uk
