Kyle Verreynne said a firm focus on first-innings runs was central to Nottinghamshire's strategy after being put in to bat, after the South Africa international made an unbeaten 148.

The wicketkeeper also praised Academy graduate Freddie McCann's contribution with the bat, and disclosed that Notts' dressing room were already switching their attention to enjoying a more fruitful red-ball season next year, after securing their Division One status.
