The Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival returns to Trent Bridge from Wednesday 9 to Saturday 12 October, and we'd love to welcome you.

The festival site is open from 4pm - 11pm on Wednesday 9 October, with the remaining three days beginning at 11am and continuing until 11pm.

For the first time in the event's history, beer will be served on the hallowed Trent Bridge turf - you can read more here.

What drinks will be available?

There will be several hundred different draught real ales, including 18 casks shipped over the Atlantic from the USA, and around 150 real ciders and perries, covering every imaginable style, including vegan options. Beer and Cider lists will be finalised around a week before the Festival.

Will alcohol free drinks be available?

There will be alcohol free drinks available in the Pavilion bar, and also on the key keg bar, with alcohol free beers from Jump Ship Brewery in Edinburgh.

Will all the beers listed be available all the time?

Over 600 beers will be on sale from the start. As these run out they are replaced by beers marked as RES (reserve) in the programme. By late on Saturday evening there are typically still a few hundred beers on sale, and the festival has never run out of beer to date.

Do you have any gluten free beer?

Event organisers aim to have the widest possible choice of gluten free real ales, with the number available nationally having increased significantly in recent years. The gluten-free range will be finalised shortly before the event, while all of the ciders and perries on offer will be gluten free.

What is 'unfined beer'?

Given enough time beer will clear naturally, but there is often not time to allow it to settle in the cellar for a couple of weeks or more.

Therefore, it has long been the practice to add a suspension of tropical fish swim bladders mixed with sodium metabisulphite (a disinfectant and preservative). This is called isinglass and many beers at the festival will be cleared by this method, known as fining.

There will be a number of ‘unfined’ beers available at the event, which will be suitable for vegans.

Will there be any vegan-friendly beers?

Event organisers aim to offer a good range of beers that are suitable for vegans.

The number of such beers has increased considerably in recent years and it is probable that around 15% of the total number of beers on sale will be vegan-friendly. All of our ciders and perries are vegan-friendly.

Will lager be on sale?

Lager will be available at Clarke's Crafty Ones in the TBI Courtyard, and in the Pavilion Long Room. Some cask conditioned lagers, i.e. real ales, will also be available.

How much is a pint?

Most beers will be priced at two tokens for a third and three for a half. 2023 token prices yet to be determined.

Are drinks sold in thirds?

Yes – glasses are half pints but also have a third line on them.

Will other alcoholic drinks be available besides beer and cider?

A selection of wines and prosecco will be on offer.

Are there beer tokens or is it a cash bar?

It is strictly a token-only festival. A number of refundable tokens are included in admission prices.

Can I buy more beer tokens once inside the festival?

There are token booths where you can purchase as many tokens as you need. They are refundable but only in small numbers.

Can I use a credit or debit card to buy extra tokens at the festival?

Yes, we accept Credit and Debit Card payments on site.

Are there discounts for CAMRA members?

CAMRA members will be given further tokens on presentation of an up-to-date membership card.

Will there be a programme available?

Programmes will be available, free of charge.
