Toby Pettman and Tom Loten will step away from professional cricket at the end of the season.
Seamer Pettman was given his first professional deal by the Green and Golds in 2020, having been spotted by Paul Franks and Kevin Shine at Loughborough University as part of a University Centres of Excellence trial.
He has collected 44 First-Class wickets at 23.20, including in loan spells at Kent and Derbyshire, with a further nine in List A cricket for Notts Outlaws.
“I’ve had a fantastic four years at Notts,” Pettman said.
“I never expected to become a professional cricketer after university, so I’m enormously grateful to Shiney, Pete and the other coaches for giving me that opportunity.
“It’s been a privilege to represent Notts, Kent and Derbyshire in first class cricket, and I’ve made lifelong friends.
“While I know I’ll miss cricket and the camaraderie of the team, I’ve decided to move on to the next chapter of my life and am looking forward to beginning a corporate career.”
All-rounder Loten was signed by Notts in 2022, and claimed 10 wickets in eight List A games.
In Second XI cricket, he claimed over 1000 runs and 25 wickets across the last two Championship seasons.
“I’ve absolutely loved my two years at Notts, and the last seven in professional cricket, but now is the right time to step away,” he said.
“Having given the sport my all, I’ve been frustrated by injury, particularly over the last couple of years, and I feel ready for the next chapter of my life.
“I’m really grateful to my teammates and coaches at Trent Bridge for making my time here so enjoyable, and I look forward to watching on in the years ahead.”
Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket, Mick Newell, added: “We’d like to place on record our thanks to both Toby and Tom for the dedication they’ve shown over the time they’ve been here.
“They’ve both been popular members of the dressing room and we wish both all the very best for the future.”
