We are pleased to be able to confirm details of our ECB Umpire and Scorer courses across Nottinghamshire this off-season.
This new ECB Umpiring course is designed to give new umpires the key skills, knowledge and confidence to stand as an umpire in cricket. No prior experience of umpiring in cricket is required before attending the course although learners must be at least 14 years of age.

Whether you plan to support junior softball cricket or adult cricket, this course is the ideal starting point for individuals wishing to start their umpiring journey.
This course will cover the following topics:
- Understanding the role of the umpire
- Gain a basic understanding of umpiring the game
- Answering appeals and the common methods of dismissal
- How to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the game
- Judging whether or not it is safe to play
Club Scorer Course
Scoring is a fantastic way for cricket lovers to connect with the game and like-minded people. You might have played for years and want to start your next chapter? Or never been formally involved in the game, but want to explore a new interest?
Club Scorer is the course for anyone wanting scoring on a regular basis and is the only one to comprehensively teach you how to score.
This course is suitable for complete beginners and existing scorers who want to improve their skills.
On completion of the course you will receive an ECB ACO Club Scorer attendance certificate.You can find the course details below:
