Fateh Singh secured four wickets as Durham surpassed 400 on the first day of their trip to Lady Bay in the Second XI Championship.
The spinner secured the key wicket of captain and centurion Ben McKinney, caught on the leg-side having made 148, before removing Jonathan Bushnell (8) soon afterwards.
Singh also pinned Luke Symington (3) and induced Mitchell Killeen (33) into edging behind, finishing as Notts’ leading wicket-taker in the innings as Durham declared on 401/7.
In reply, the hosts lost Tom Loten (5) and nightwatchman Pettman (1) to reach 8/2 at stumps.
