Sustainability has been placed firmly at the forefront of Trent Bridge's refreshed eco-cup system, alongside support for the Trent Bridge Community Trust.
Delivered in conjunction with One Planet One Chance - the UK's only carbon-neutral reusable cup solution - supporters will be able to assist the venue's efforts to become increasingly environmentally friendly with each drink they purchase.
An extra £1 charged on a spectator's first drink of the day will cover the cost of washing their cup for re-use, while supporters will receive a fresh eco-cup at no extra cost when returning their cup to make a new drinks purchase.
By dropping their cup into a deposit bin at the end of their visit, supporters will play a significant part in helping Trent Bridge to reduce plastic waste by ensuring cups can be re-used on future matchdays. Any surplus from their initial £1, meanwhile, will be donated to the Trent Bridge Community Trust.
Notts members or regular attendees of cricket at Trent Bridge are most welcome to retain and re-use their eco-cup across matchdays to avoid additional hire fees.
The use of eco-cups at Trent Bridge saves 250,000 single-use pint pots from landfill each and every season.
"It's great to see this new initiative helping Trent Bridge to conserve resources and improve sustainability - and we're hugely grateful that it will support our efforts to raise aspirations and break down barriers for those in need across Nottinghamshire," said Mark Clifford, the Trust’s Community Projects Manager.
"In the aftermath of a pandemic, and in a cost-of-living crisis, the support we offer is in higher demand than at any other point in our 15-year history.
"Each and every contribution to our cause will have a direct impact as we provide a helping hand to young and old in our city and county."
