Day Two of Nottinghamshire’s LV= Insurance County Championship clash with Middlesex at Trent Bridge regretfully has been interrupted by the weather shortly before the scheduled start of play.
Follow below for rolling updates on prospects of play.
10:30am: Light drizzle has been falling at Trent Bridge for a short while now, with the covers on and doubts over the planned start time of 11:00am.
11:00am: The groundstaff are engaged in the initial stages of a clean-up operation. However, the skies remain dark, and there is not yet any indication of when play, now formally delayed, might begin.
11:30am: The rain has, regrettably, become more robust in the last half-hour, resulting in the umpires calling an early lunch.
Lunch will now be taken at 12:30pm, with no play scheduled until after that.
12:45pm: Better news from the middle during the lunch break.
Play is now scheduled to begin at 1:30pm, with 75 overs scheduled in the day. Tea will take place at 3:50pm, with a scheduled close now of 6.30pm.
