With bad weather forecast for day two of the LV= Insurance County Championship fixture against Essex, updates will be posted here.
30 - Sadly, it has been raining for the last hour or so in Chelmsford. The Cloudfm County Ground is awash with covers, and the prospect of immediate play is limited.
55 - We will not be starting on time here - the rain continues to lash down. The forecast for the day:
30 - The precipitation appears to have gathered yet more weight, the grass getting quite the watering.
25 - The rain relented for all of about five minutes before returning in spades.
00 - Lunch has been taken as the heavens remain open.
00 - Not a pleasant sight as the persistent downpour continues to drench the outfield.
00 - The seagulls have caught wind of the developments at Chelmsford and have settled in along with the rain, which continues to fall.
00 - Play abandoned. The rain is still falling and there remains a great deal of standing water, so the umpires have called time on the day. Notts will return tomorrow still 248/6 with two days remaining.
