Trent Rockets will be able to boast an all-international spin attack for the first year of The Hundred, with England’s Mady Villiers and Sarah Glenn both announced in their first wave of domestic signings.

Glenn and Villiers – both of whom are part of England’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, taking place in February – are joined by Scotland international Kathryn Bryce and England’s ICC Women’s World Cup winner Beth Langston.

They join a Rockets squad – coached by Salliann Briggs – which has already announced Nat Sciver, Katherine Brunt, Sophie Molineux and Elyse Villani.

"It’s really nice to be joining Trent Rockets," said Glenn.

"I grew up in Derby and I’ve played all my cricket there so when we play at Derbyshire it’s going to be particularly exciting.

“I’m pleased that Mady’s part of the squad, we’ve got to know each other well at England level, and it will be a great opportunity to play more alongside the likes of Nat Sciver and Katherine Brunt.”

The Hundred women’s competition kicks off on 22 July, with Trent Bridge hosting Briggs' side as part of a double-header against Welsh Fire on Saturday 25 July. The women's competition will also take place at the Pattonair and Fischer County Grounds in Derby and Leicester.

The men’s competition, meanwhile, gets underway on 17 July.
