Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell has appointed former Surrey Head Coach Chris Adams as a consultant batting coach.
Adams, who has recently concluded a stint with Sri Lanka, has been briefed to assess the Club’s batting talent below first team level.
“Chris is held in very high regard and we’re pleased that he has taken this opportunity to spend some time assessing our players, coaching and facilities,” said Newell.
“I felt that it was important to get someone in from the outside to look at what we are providing for young players and to make recommendations to help us to produce more homegrown talent.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for him and for his achievements in the game and I hope that he can provide some insight.”
Adams was one of Wisden’s five cricketers of the year in 2004 and amassed 19535 first class runs in a distinguished playing career.
