Have you ever stared at the Press Box during a game and wondered what it must be like to view the game sat amongst some of the world’s finest cricket writers?
If so, we have a competition that’s just for you!
Following what has been a roller-coaster of a season for Notts, we are offering the opportunity for one lucky person to win the chance to spend a day in the Press Box during a weekend Twenty20 Cup game in 2009, accompanied by our Communications Manager, Michael Temple.
You will get to follow Michael as he conducts pre and post-match interviews with the players and also chat to other members of the Press during the day.
At the end of the day, you will be invited to go away and compose a 300-word report on the game, which will be used on the club’s website and read by thousands. This will need to be sent to us by the next working day after the game in order to be used.
The winner will also be presented with a bat signed by the 2009 squad.
The winner would need to be accompanied by a responsible adult on the day and will be provided with two complimentary tickets for the match.
All we are asking is that you compile a review of the 2008 season (from a Notts perspective) that is no longer than 750 words. It can incorporate our great run in the Championship, our agonising last-day defeat against Sussex in the Pro-40 Trophy, the Twenty20 Cup campaign, all those England call-ups, the New Stand or whatever else you can think of that might make your piece stand out from the rest.
The competition is open to anybody aged between 11 and 16 years old before April 1st 2009. Entries should be sent either via email to juniors@nottsccc.co.uk with the subject header ‘SEASON REVIEW 2008’.
Your piece should be within the core of the email and not sent as an attachment. Alternatively, you can send your pieces to Alex Picker, Community Marketing Co-ordinator, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham, NG2 6AG.
Please include your name, address, date of birth and contact telephone number.
All entries must be received by Midnight on 23rd October 2008.
The winner will be notified by 6th November 2008.
